about

This poem from the bard Ozan Kızılgül belongs to the Bektashi and Alevi traditions, in which man looks for the divine within himself. Around the mythical theme of the nightingale and the rose, the poet sings about his misfortune as if he were a nightingale struck like lightning by love for his sweetheart. His torment is eternal and he begs the wise men to help him.
