about

This song is a tribute to
Hrant Dink, the Turkish
journalist of Armenian
origin who wrote for
the Armenian Turkish
newspaper Agos under
the pseudonym Çutak
(‘violin’ in Armenian).
He strove to bring the
Armenian tragedy to
public notice and, in 2007,
was assassinated for his
opinions. Symbolising the
fight for acknowledgement
of the Armenian issue and
minorities and activism for
free speech, he prompted
a degree of reconciliation
between the Turkish and
Armenian populations.
